Movie Review - Magnolia

On one random day in the San Fernando Valley, a dying father, a young wife, a male caretaker, a famous lost son, a police officer in love, a boy genius, an ex-boy genius, a game show host and an estranged daughter will each become part of a dazzling multiplicity of plots, but one story. Through a collusion of coincidence, chance, human action, shared media, past history and divine intervention they will weave and warp through each other's lives on a day that builds to an unforgettable climax.

Movie Review - Last samurai

"The Last Samurai" is an adventure epic that triumphs over an initially preposterous premise: Tom Cruise as an American mercenary soldier in 19th-century Japan, fighting alongside a last rebellious band of samurai warriors
Cruise plays Capt. Nathan Algren, an embittered survivor of Custer's cavalry hired by the Japanese government in 1876 to train its ragtag but heavily armed conscripted armies. Their foes are the forces of General Katsumoto (Ken Watanabe), samurais who refuse to lay down their arms.

Movie Review - Insomnia

Pacino seems to over-act...Williams doesn't seem like Williams...gorgeous scenery...morality play does not quite come across...director could not determine whether to have a thriller or question of what guilt and covering-up do to the human mind...ending a bit like dozens of other films...Alaska was the star

reel rating 3.5.
Good to see.

Movie Review - Anywhere but here

Susan sarandon is at here best in what she does best, acting. Being a avid fan of Susan, I started admiring her role as the movie rolled out.
I kind of liked natalie's role too, she seems to represent the ordinary practical person we meet at the coffee shop day in and day out.
movie rating : 3 on reel scale.
Actor to watch : Susan Sarandon.

Movie Review - Alamo

Good movie for me personally, as this was my first history movie about Texas. I would be lying if dont say I wasnt impressed after watching the movie. My fav character inthis movie would be Bowie & Crockett.

The good news first: The Alamo is probably the most historically accurate depiction yet to reach the screen of the famous siege. The bad news is that "historically accurate" does not necessarily translate into "dramatically successful." Emotionally inert and poorly paced, The Alamo transforms one of Texas' best-known events into an uninvolving bore. And, to add a dose of irony to the proceedings, the most compelling elements of the film are those that transpire away from the Alamo.
